On moving day, it’s easy to focus on packing, lifting, and checking off the last box. But what happens after the moving truck pulls away? Whether you’re moving across Sofia or heading abroad, there’s still a lot happening behind the scenes.
Here’s what you can expect once the truck is loaded and your belongings are on the move.
1. Sign the Bill of Lading
Before the truck leaves, you’ll be asked to sign the Bill of Lading – your formal moving contract. This document includes your inventory list, payment info, estimated delivery schedule, and driver credentials. Your signature confirms that everything’s been loaded and accounted for.
2. Weighing the Truck
Next, the driver heads to a certified weigh station. We’ve already weighed the empty truck, so this step calculates the exact weight of your shipment. It’s especially important for long-distance or international moves to and from Bulgaria, where pricing is partly based on weight.
4. The Journey Begins
Whether your belongings are heading across the city or to another country, our team follows a detailed travel plan. Drivers stop safely for meals, rest, and overnight stays – always securing the truck and ensuring your goods remain protected.
5. Arrival or Temporary Storage
Sometimes, your belongings go directly to your new home. In other cases – such as international moves or if your new home isn’t ready – we may take your items to a temporary storage facility. In rare cases, your shipment may also pass through an international port or customs clearance point.
6. Unloading and Inventory Check
When we arrive, we’ll unload everything based on how it was labeled – by room, type, or as you instruct. You’ll be asked to sign the final inventory sheet, confirming all your items arrived safely. If anything is missing or damaged, now is the time to document it and begin a claims process.
7. Optional Unpacking Service
If you choose professional unpacking, we’ll place items where directed and remove used boxes and packing materials. If you’re unpacking yourself, we’ll still unload everything by room to make the job easier.
8. Ongoing Support
